How to measure the hips

Measure around the fullest part of the buttocks and compare the measurement with each product’s hip range. A size that is too large or too tight can contribute to leakage. After fitting the diaper, also check for gaps around the legs and at the back.

What to check when choosing

Even when products share the S or SS label, their hip measurement ranges differ. First choose a size that fits the body. If using an incontinence insert pad, check that it fits comfortably inside the outer diaper’s standing leak guards. Absorption counts are reference values; adjust the actual interval between changes according to urine volume, posture and the circumstances of use.

SS and S sizes limit the size of incontinence insert pad that can be used with them. Choose a pad that fits within the standing leak guards of the SS or S tape-fastened adult diaper.

A physically larger insert pad does not necessarily have greater absorbency. Some smaller pads also have high absorbency.
