Larger Tape-Fastened Adult Diapers: 6 Manufacturers in Japan [2026]

English edition of a Japanese guide by Hiroshi Yagi. Japanese original: first published May 12, 2021; updated October 2, 2026. Read the Japanese original (Japanese).

For people looking for larger tape-fastened adult diapers, this article compares products marketed for home use by 6 manufacturers. For the largest sizes in the listed product lines, hip measurement ranges and reference absorption counts were checked on the manufacturers’ official pages on October 2, 2026.

You cannot compare dimensions by the L or LL label alone. Even products labeled L have different hip measurement ranges across manufacturers. Retail availability and packaging can also change, so check current products with the official manufacturer pages and retailers before buying.

Comparing larger sizes from 6 manufacturers

This table compares upper size limits. A higher upper limit does not mean that a product fits everyone better. If a diaper is too large for the body, gaps can form around the legs and at the back; if it is too small, it can feel tight.

Measuring the hips and choosing a size

Measure the hip circumference with a tape measure around the fullest part of the buttocks. Check that the measurement falls within the manufacturer’s stated range, then assess the fit around the legs, back and abdomen when the diaper is on. If size ranges overlap, check whether the tabs fasten comfortably without gaps or excessive tightness.

Many manufacturers calculate reference absorption counts using 150mL for 1 void. The labels reflect each manufacturer’s own measurement conditions; they are not a ranking of absorbency tested under identical conditions.

Summary

Among the products from these 6 manufacturers checked for this article, upper hip limits ranged from 125 to 144cm. When looking for a larger size, prioritize the measured hip circumference and actual fit rather than the upper-limit number alone. Use reference absorption counts as a guide when considering the intended use and frequency of changes.

If a size is not available in the store, ask the retailer whether it can be ordered. Specifications and availability can change, so check the manufacturer pages above for current information before buying.

Even a larger size can lead to leakage or tightness if it does not fit the body. Check the hip measurement together with any gaps after fitting the diaper.
