On June 24, 2025, the “O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO” was held at the “Shin Hatto” Hall, EXPO Hall, Kansai World Expo, Osaka.
Our event was also viewed from the audience seats by participants of the IBA research forum “Medical Curator Practice Session” of the Graduate School of Management Strategy, Kansai Gakuin University.
At the O-MU-TSU World Expo, guests such as Terry Ito and astronaut Norishige Kanai discussed the topic of adult diapers. Various guests from different fields spoke about the subject. Also, a diverse range of models, transcending age, gender, nationality, and disability status, were on display, expressing the new possibilities of adult diapers.
In the official report of the Medical Curator Practice Meeting, the O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO was introduced as part of an initiative to shift the perception of adult incontinence products from “things used because they are necessary” to “things that can be chosen for enjoyment in color and design.

This connection began with the 53rd Medical Curator Practice Meeting held in July 2024.
Members of the research group, Yagi, introduced a plan titled “Challenging the World’s Common Sense with Welfare × Healthcare × Design: A Diaper Collection for the World’s Fair,” and invited Kei Hirabayashi as a lecturer.
The concept introduced at the study session in 2024 was realized as “O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO” at the Osaka-Kansai World Expo the following year, and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to witness the event at the venue for those who were involved in the process.
