We announced the “O-MU-TSU WORLD AR App Project” in collaboration with the Graduate School of Industrial Art, Faculty of Systems Design, Tokyo Metropolitan University, in June 2025.
In this project, by reading a dedicated webpage QR code on a smartphone to display the entire body on the screen, users can experience wearing the “O-MU-TSU” incorporating future design elements virtually. The website also made available the 3D data of the “O-MU-TSU” created.
In the related events of the O-MU-TSU WORLD EXPO held from June 24 to 26, 2025, we offered an AR experience on a large screen where users could choose multiple designs, a 3D model display via tablet, and an “AR runway” where models walked on smartphones.
We would like to express our gratitude to the members of the Industrial Art Division of the Graduate School of Systems Design, The University of Tokyo, including faculty and students, for their collaboration in the creation of the AR. By combining design and digital technology, this project became a plan that allows for a visual experience of the future diapers.
As vice representative director of the Japan Welfare Medical Fashion Association, Hiroshi Yagi has been involved in this project.
Thank you to all those who contributed, including the Tokyo Metropolitan University, for your cooperation.
