On March 6, 2025, the official website of the non-profit organization Weelog introduced an activity requesting the installation of a care lift for the barrier-free toilet at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

Even if adult-sized beds are installed outside, some individuals are unable to move themselves into the bed. Therefore, to support the changing of diapers and bowel or bladder management for individuals with severe disabilities, an environment that includes both beds and care lifts is necessary.

Drawing on its inspection of accessibility at Expo 2020 Dubai, WheeLog! NPO advocated for accessible toilets with patient lifts at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan venue and contacted the people involved.

The request letter was submitted jointly by Kei Hirabayashi, representative director of the Japan Welfare Medical Fashion Association; Satoshi Sato, head of the DPI Japanese Conference Secretariat; and Yuriko Oda, representative director of the Non-Profit Organization Weelog, to 竹内真二, official of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Hiroshi Yagi, CEO of our company, also participated in this initiative at the time as an assistant director of the Japan Welfare Medical Fashion Association. Uchimura, from the perspective of considering the outdoor environment for people using diapers, collaborated with the members of WheeLog! including Yuriko Oda, to discuss the necessity of environments that allow the use of care lifts.

It is also important to consider creating an environment where individuals using diapers can feel confident and comfortable when going out, in addition to choosing the right diaper.
